Create master password
SubWallet always requires users to create a master password (such as when creating a new account or importing an existing account). The master password on SubWallet is very important, so please keep it safe.
Master poassword will allow users to lock and unlock their wallets as they wish.
Lock and unlock wallets on SubWallet
Wallet Lock:
Step 1: From the home screen, click on the list icon in the upper left corner to go to “Settings”.
Step 2: Scroll down to the bottom of the Settings section and you will see the “Lock” button. Then click on the button to lock the wallet.
Unlock wallet:
If the user has previously locked the wallet or if the user has been inactive for a while, the wallet will be locked.
To unlock the wallet, the user needs to enter his master password and click “Unlock”.
Create new account
Step 1: After installing the SubWallet extension, open the wallet and select “Create a new account”.
Step 2: Create a master password and click “Continue”.
And as I said above, you must keep your master password carefully. SubWallet will not be able to help you recover your password if it is lost!
Step 3: Keep the seed phrase (also known as secret phrase) in a safe place.
Seed phrase is as important as master password ( if someone has your seed phrase, they will have full control of your account).
Additionally, if you forget your password, you will need the seed phrase to re-enter your account and set a new password.
Step 4: Your account has been successfully set up. Click “Exit” to go to the Home page.
Get tokens and NFTs on SubWallet
Get tokens:
All you need is your wallet address. You need to show your wallet address to your counterparty and they can send their assets to that address.
Follow the instructions below to get your wallet address.
Step 1: From the SubWallet homepage and click on the “Get Address” button on the main screen.
Step 2: Select the account to receive money
(You only need to do step 2 if you are in “All accounts” mode. If you are in “One account” mode, you will move to step 3 right after step 1).
Step 3: Select the token you want to receive
Note that SubWallet also supports cross-chain token receiving, so be careful when selecting tokens from the list.
For example, let's say you want to receive DOT.
SubWallet supports DOT on Palkadot, DOT on Astar, DOT on Moonbeam, etc…so be careful when choosing your token. Otherwise, your sender may send the asset to the wrong network and you will need to take extra steps with additional fees to get the asset transferred to your desired network.
Remember to pay attention to the chain logo and chain name below the token name.
In this example, I want to receive DOT on Astar.
Step 4: Get your address
Here, you can share this QR code with the sender or click on the “Copy” icon next to your address and send it to the sender.
In this example, I want to receive DOT on Astar, so the address must be an Astar address! You can double check the address by viewing it on explorer.
Get NFT:
The steps are similar to the instructions for receiving tokens above, however in Step 3, you should pay more attention to the network instead of the token
